I finally got my act together I added the final touches on the this project for the bedroom. I actually mixed the gray paint up from some left over cream colored wall paint & some black that I purchased for another project. The red is actually some acrylic paint that we had since forever ago. I sprayed it with a high gloss protector spray.
Yay! another project finally completed!

one pink, one blue

And for the the small price of $1 a piece. How I love garage sales :)

First I found this amazing way to transform a globe light with paper strips.

Then this one which is actually wax paper circles sewn together to cover an old wire fixture.

 And finally...

The middle one was actually a rendition of this gorgeous one. This one uses strips of ribbon & I must say that the idea of sewing them together instead would save a huge portion of the money for the project. I will have to look for a circle cutter before embarking on this project.

office ideas

Ahhh yes, the clipboard idea that everyone is doing. Well why is everybody doing it? Because it's just exceptional.

Our new house will have the office area upstairs so I am anticipating needing a little organization to be done in the kitchen to facilitate orderly counter tops. Before we even move in I'm battling against piles of bills, receipts & other miscellanea that may try to invade my kitchen.  I saw this folder at Ikea & may just have to purchase it.
What caught my eye in this room is the way the ribbon & wrapping paper is organized. Admirable.

I had two ideas for indoor gardens. Both from In Word & Pictures. one wet & one dry.

Air plants that she explains don't even require soil.  See instructions.

Jewelry hanger

These three images look interesting each in their own way

I am in desperate need of some organization of my jewels. Not only are they always tangled but I wear only a fraction of the pieces because I forget what I have stowed away

kitchens

I made a little collection of kitchen pictures that appealed to me. White cabinets seem to have overwhelming appeal, much to my surprise.

The black in the gives the eye something to rest on, I'm interested in the little cupboards at the top that seem to have green inside, that's adorable!

I don't know that I have enough cute things to actually put out on display but maybe one day
I'm always attracted to words as art & the blue/green is gorgeous
Having all the same spice jars turns the collection into a decoration as well as being useful. This toaster is amazing. Not sure I like the cabinet doors but they add to the light & airy feeling.

I just love juxtaposition. I'm not a rustic person but incorporating some unexpected items into an otherwise modern area is extremely appealing.

I love the way colors pop when the area is neutral. I don't like feeling overwhelmed so this is a great way to incorporate color.
This may well be a the winning selection. It incorporates so many of the aspects that I admire. It doesn't have any upper cabinet cupboards which probably isn't an option for us. Great combination of modern & vintage.   Love love it!
