Finally finished, I love it but it certainly took more time than I thought it would.

Planning a welcome home party for a special person.
A world adventurer.

I drew up the invitations by hand.
It took a few concentrated hours but everyone is doing the evite type invitations lately so I decided to be different & actually send invitations in the mail of all crazy things.

I created some cup sleeves from some salvaged note paper with colored lines but made the sleeves to have horizontal stripes rather than looking like note paper. I will have them all written on before being attached to the cups.

The menu is planned out.

I crafted some bunting from an old map.  I'm absolutely in love with it.
This idea came from various folks online including Please Note.

I think I'm getting a bit better at party planning, I still have lots to learn but at least things are going to look pretty!!

A few of the bird themed cards that I made this weekend. I thought it was a good idea to have some thank you cards on hand.

I finally got my act together I added the final touches on the this project for the bedroom. I actually mixed the gray paint up from some left over cream colored wall paint & some black that I purchased for another project. The red is actually some acrylic paint that we had since forever ago. I sprayed it with a high gloss protector spray.
Yay! another project finally completed!

Taking a few old gold colored picture frames & making them beautiful! I'm so excited to frame some of my own art work. I have been picking up old frames from rummage sales & finally getting around to doing their makeovers!

Oooh, fun fast craft project. Emphasis on fast. Idea from Katja. I see great potential for this.

I've started a little tradition of giving my husband a card that lists 10 specific things that I love about him. It was really fun for me & very thought provoking. I hope to continue to make a new one for each Valentines day. This year I did stick drawings to illustrate my statements.

This is the card from last year. I did my best to do a scrapbook style without being too feminine, which was actually very difficult not to make things too "pretty".

camera pouch

So I took this lovely purse that was getting all worn out & cut off the handles to make:
 this lovely bag

And then the serious cutting started. Inside I was surprised to find one panel of red fabric, padding & all that I needed...

To create a little camera pouch!!

The only new supplies that I used was the red trim & the thread. I admit the ends of the zipper are a bit rough but my excuse is that this only my second zipper & it is very hard to work on such a tiny little bag.
