First I found this amazing way to transform a globe light with paper strips.

Then this one which is actually wax paper circles sewn together to cover an old wire fixture.

 And finally...

The middle one was actually a rendition of this gorgeous one. This one uses strips of ribbon & I must say that the idea of sewing them together instead would save a huge portion of the money for the project. I will have to look for a circle cutter before embarking on this project.
