nursery

I've got lots of ideas for a future nursery room & to start with I am planning to have the theme black & white. The walls white. I was thinking about subtle stripes with semi gloss & matte paint in order to make it less harsh & add some interest to white walls.

I was thinking of having having either letters or numbers painted white & attached to the wall, I'm just obsessed with white on white. The numbers or letters could be placed irregularly or contained within a picture frame or painted border to make an arrangement with other pictures.
I also like the irregular letters in the first picture. That may mean that I should start collecting so that when the time comes I have a variety... food for thought.

I had the idea of painting a wall mural of a tree in the nursery. I was thinking of painting it in black & just having the branches empty except when the baby was born & we would know whether it was a girl or boy, then I would paint either a pink or a blue bird onto one of the branches. The idea I had in my head was a lot more complicated so it was good that I found the first picture which is more simple!

I already mentioned that I want to make a bird mobile.

As well I would like to sew a polka dot quilt out of pastel flannels. I would make it out of second hand flannel nighties except that I want to keep everything as gender neutral as possible so flowery night gowns might not fit the bill.

These birds, they follow along with the bird theme I have going on in my head. I included them even though they aren't part of my plan.

So my nursery plans continue to accumulate!
