Coffee Cozies
I try not to be too much swept along with overly trendy crafty ideas, but I must admit that I was completely smitten with the "coffee cozy" craze. I made 6, one more on the way. Just couldn't help myself. Each one was different of course, I really hate duplicating projects for some reason. So naturally each time I did another one I would have to go & figure out my gauge for my new choice of yarn yet once again. The last few that I've done have all been in the same gauge of yarn because I couldn't handle changing anymore!! How I detest making gauges. Just knitting up a swatch just to measure it & tear it out uses up valuable motivation & energies on my part.
I already gave away the ones I made with big chunky yarn so I don't have a picture of them. I did discover that synthetic yarn is really too hard to use due to the fact that it doesn't have stretch to the fiber. I tried many times without success to knit a cozy with a chunky synthetic yarn, the key would be to get the cast on & off loose enough yet the rest of it tight..hmmm Wool seems to be a much better choice for me. Definitely some sort of rib is vital as well to add that extra stretch to accommodate different sized cups.

I keep my own cozy in my purse & pull it out for both hot & cold drinks, it just makes me feel cute when I use it!

Very cute, Anna!! I love the one's with the big bows! :) And I totally agree about the motivation and energy lost in gauges. ;)
